About Rachel

 Born and raised in New York City but a Seneca Falls resident by choice! I’ve lived in the Finger Lakes since 1993 and on Ovid Street in Seneca Falls since 2005.

Currently Professor of History at Cornell University

 Administrative experiences at Cornell include being departmental Director of Graduate Studies, Director of Undergraduate Studies, Co-chair of the College Academic Integrity Hearing Board.

Organized Indivisible Seneca Falls (2017), the Stand Together against Hate Vigil in response to the violence in Charlottesville (2017), and the March for Our Lives rally in Seneca Falls in response to the Parkland mass shooting in March, 2018.

 I live with spouse, Becky Bly, a downtown business owner and have extended family living in Seneca Falls and Seneca County.

Hobbies: Gardening, Singing, Kayaking, Hiking and Camping. You may see me walking my rescue-mutt Lucy around the neighborhood.
